In 2012, the Hamburg-based company Willy Benecke GmbH chose Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as a new production site. Excellent connections to the Port of Hamburg, through which it imports raw materials, played an important role in the decision. Its subsidiary SprayCom GmbH processes gum arabic for soft drinks, sweeteners and pharmaceuticals as well as technical products at a modern spray drying plant in Wittenburg. This state-of-the-art production plant has an annual capacity of 4,000 tons, while the associated laboratory ensures continuous quality control and product optimization.
