Liebherr is a quality and technology leader in the manufacture of cranes and handling equipment for maritime applications. In 2005, Liebherr commissioned an additional production facility for the manufacture of large scale maritime cranes and components in the port of Rostock on the German Baltic coast. Thanks to the port, the Rostock site is a very good location for the movement of products of this size, and is important for the further growth and strengthening of the Liebherr maritime division’s international market position. Today, almost all employees in Rostock, from the gatekeepers to the plant managers, are from the region. This guarantees loyalty and low fluctuation. Today, around 1,700 people work at Liebherr in Rostock.
